Cold commodities make up around one-fifth of all air freight worldwide. A sizeable percentage of it is also exported. Exporting products overseas is more prevalent and profitable than ever, especially to markets in Asia.

One of the largest international freight companies is the Eurofreight International Group, which has its headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden. IBISWorld estimates that in 2017, Eurofreight held 31% of the global market for goods forwarding. In the US, it wasn't made available until 2008, which is a very recent year. Eurofreight purportedly seeks to gain traction in the US by expanding its global network of airport agents—the network carriers whose agents occupy the space used by goods forwarders for the agents' products.
